Rebuilding the original 7HP Briggs and Stratton engine wasn't an easy task. If You've ever worked on these early model Briggs, The Valves aren't fun. First, only the exhaust has a thin wall bronze guide, Which is a $100 Kit to remove. You can't even insert a standard size guide, Because the block is too thin. So, Tomorrow I will be reassembling it, and running it with somewhat loose valve guides. I already have everything cleaned and painted, and all My NOS Briggs parts are in a box waiting to be installed.

After letting the 14 CI, 7 HP Briggs and Stratton engine sit, trying to figure out the very loose valve guides, I decide just to slap it together, and hope for the best. Everything was cleaned and painted, and I took all the paint off the carburetor and clear coated it to avoid corrosion. Everything went together well, and nothing got stuck or stopped turning. Re-ground the valves and the seats, and honed the cylinder. New rings, seals and gaskets too. Put it all together, bolted it in the 1967 Cushman, and after 5 Seconds of cranking, the beauty fired right up. Still a bit of tuning, but man does it sound good! And I plan on creating a new seat, using some black leather and a new foam pad.

Got some New Projects! Blue Cushman Is a 1960's Haulster, With a OMC Opposed Twin OHV and a Borg Warner T98 3 Speed with Reverse Trans. We got it to idle, Needs a simple carb clean first to run any better. It also has a 4? foot bed that has no rust holes, and Is in pretty decent shape. Next is a 1970's Cushman Turf Truckster with a OMC Opposed Twin OHV and a Borg Warner T98 3 Speed with Reverse Trans. It has a Worm Gear diff, with a Hi Lo before the diff too. Haven't touch it yet, But It should run too. Also has a Hydraulic Bed lift, and has around 5000 Hours. He also had a Spare OMC Opposed Twin OHV with Borg Warner T98 3 Speed with Reverse Trans, and a whole bucket of parts for it. So I paid $1100, and I think I did pretty good.

So the Blue Cushman is going great now, A few things like replacing the driveshaft rubber flex mounts, Change the differential oil, and hook up the Parking Brake. But I Re Wired it all after it burnt all the wiring up, so now everything works including the head lights. Next, I got the Green Cushman thats a little bit newer drive able now. It will start on it's own, But needs some wiring work. The frame in the front is quite rusted, Like the front suspension has a piece of tube rusted out. Drive train works wonderful, Has a 3 speed with reverse, and a Hi Lo gearbox. It also has a PTO with a Hydraulic motor for the dump bed. Some of the body work is also quite rusted, but at least it drives. Bed needs some work, Frame and the front suspension need some work, and then it Should look better.

Got two new Honda Lawn tractors for Free! First one is a 1990' Honda 3813 OHC Liquid Cooled Two cylinder 360 CC Engine. The starter is bad, So I need to pull it and Either Fix it or Replace it. Otherwise everything else seems good, Its a 5 Speed with a clutch. Other Honda is a 4514 with the same engine as the 3813, Just one Hp Different. And I had to pull the engine out because the Water pump bearings went bad and was moving into the flywheel and grinding. All of the PTO Clutch bearings on it also went out. So Need to get a new water pump for the 4514, and maybe some oil seals too!
